Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a form of manual exfoliation similar to a microdermabrasion facial but without the use of suction or abrasive crystals. A medical grade, sterile blade is stroked along the skin at a specific angle to gently remove dead skin cells, scar tissue, vellus hairs and surface debris to reveal a smooth, radiant glow!
FAQs
What are the benefits?
Everyday we are exposed to harsh toxins, irritants and sun damage that causes the top layer of our skin to appear dull and aged. Dermaplaning removes 21 days worth of buildup and increases the absorption of our skincare products and chemical peels, making them more effective.
Who can get it?
Dermaplaning is safe for all skin types and tones, including those with acne scars, dry skin, sun-damaged skin, fine wrinkles and more. The products used after can be customized so it is one of the only facials that are safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding. On the contrary, it cannot be done over active acne.
Are there any side effects?
You will experience slight redness immediately after the procedure but there is no downtime. It is a myth that vellus hairs will grow back thicker; though they may feel blunt at first growth, they flatten shortly after. SPF should be worn diligently as sun exposure can reverse the positive effects.
