PRP Microneedling
A 12mL blood sample is drawn from your arm and spun in a centrifuge to separate the PRP and make it 5x more concentrated. These are the clotting cells of our blood, which accelerate soft tissue healing with special growth factors and proteins.
Microneedling aka Collagen Induction Therapy or the “Vampire Facial” involves tiny sterile needles making micro-injuries in the skin to trigger new collagen and elastin production.
Paired together, Microneedling with PRP can tighten and thicken skin, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture and tone, as well as lighten pigmentation and scar indentation. The results are far better than traditional microneedling with serums and the downtime is significantly less with PRP.
FAQs
Is it painful?
A medical-grade topical numbing cream is applied 15-20 minutes before the procedure. Clients usually rate the discomfort 1/10, but with a ‘second pass’ it can feel tender up to 4/10. The procedure lasts approximately 1 hour long.
How many treatments do I need?
The number of treatments depends on your skin condition and will be assessed at your appointment. Typically we recommend 3 treatments, 1 month apart and maintenance of 1-2 times per year.
What is the downtime like?
After the procedure, your skin will be flushed and feel tight, similar to a sunburn. On average, redness can last between 2-4 days, however some people may heal within 24 hours.
